The Role
**General Description**: - Assist the Senior Project Manager in delivery of Project Management requirements for Project(s) managed by the Authority - Draft, review or recommend any Project Management related documents as required - Review and ensure that Project Management principles are incorporated and applied - Identify, develop and promote Programme and Project required Project Management polices - Provide progress reports as and when required - Attendance at relevant meetings Job Responsibilities: - Ensure and review compliance with Project Management procedures and processes. - Liaise with various internal teams and external stakeholders to effectively manage various Projects - Lead planning and implementation of Project - Define Project tasks and resource requirements - Develop full scale Project plans - Assemble and coordinate Project staff - Manage Project budget - Manage Project resource allocation - Plan and schedule Project timelines - Track Project deliverables using appropriate tools - Provide direction and support to Project team - Oversee quality assurance - Strong presentation skills (creating and delivering) - Prepare presentations for workshops, management meetings, etc. - Collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders - Provide support to the Senior Project Manager where required on Project Management matters.
**Requirements**:
**Required Skills and Competencies**: - Minimum 15 years’ post graduate experience in major infrastructure and drainage Projects. - At least 8 years in a similar position for projects with an RCC/GRP/HDPE pipeline - Must have worked on a micro-tunnelling project in the last 10 years. - Conversant with the construction methodology of deep manholes and chambers. - Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multidisciplinary projects and managing teams of engineers. - Proven ability to perform in a management capacity and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are also required. In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the Project. - In-depth understanding of construction procedures and Project Management principles - Strong working knowledge of MS Office - A “rounded profile”, with experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management analysis and commercial considerations - Technically proficient in all aspects of Project Management such as technical, commercial, Project controls (programme, planning, risk, systems compliance etc. - Effective in building good working relationships, both internally and with various Project stakeholders Mandatory Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in an appropriate field such as Civil Engineering or equivalent - Evidence of suitable professional qualification PMP or equivalent is preferable - Experience of working in Qatar and / or the Gulf region - Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken - Driver’s License Desirable requirements - Master’s degree in a relevant field - Arabic language skills - Chartered engineer status from a recognized institution
