Physiotherapist

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES**:
**Duties**:

- Act independently, with advice of a Senior Physiotherapist to assess, analyse and provide a clinical diagnosis for individual patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.
- Act independently, with advice of a Senior Physiotherapist to plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximize rehabilitation potential.
- Advance treatment progression of patients with the advice of the Senior Physiotherapist as needed.
- Independently manage a caseload of patients effectively and efficiently, utilizing the advice of a Senior Physiotherapist as needed.
- Ability to examine and treat specific conditions across range of orthopedic situations at a proficient level
- Provide moderate input into development of assessment and treatment protocols.
- Contribute to evidence-based practice in the department at a proficient level (ex. Participate in protocol reviews).
- Participate in physiotherapy and team in-service training to promote personal development.
- Agree on a discharge planning of patients, with advice from the Senior Physiotherapist.
- Assist Senior Physiotherapist with staff continuing education.
- Provide in-service briefing following attendance at a course or conference.
- Maintain a proficient standard of ethical and professional behavior when treating and dealing with patients.
- Participate in the departmental personal development and performance review system to promote personal and service developments.
- Liaise with Senior Physiotherapists to gain support and direction in management of their caseload.
- Work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care.
- Participate in clinical audit to support the physiotherapy service clinical governance strategy.
- Communicate and recommend to relevant disciplines of staff to maximize patient care and promote multidisciplinary team working.
- Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards.
- Independent charting using Cerner.
- Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor.
- Attend and successfully complete competencies which focus on patient safety initiatives implemented within Aspetar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. Patient Safety Training is an annual requirement, to include all organizational leaders, staff, service and contracted providers.

**Necessary knowledge and Experience to be able to do the job**:

- 4-8 years of orthopedic facility experience.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Ability to multi-task and to work with frequent interruptions.
- Meticulous and pays attention to detail.
- Ability to establish good working relationships and to work within a team.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Sports physiotherapy background would be advantageous.

**Education and Certification requirements**:

- Master’s degree in physiotherapy is desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy or equivalent required.
- Registered with home country Physiotherapy Association.
- Evidence of recent Continued Professional development in orthopedic physiotherapy.
