Accountant (Hospitality Experience)

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analyses. Present these reports to management and stakeholders as needed.
2. Prepare and consolidate daily revenue reports for the hotel
3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to create and monitor budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals. Assist in forecasting financial performance to aid in strategic planning.
4. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including processing invoices, tracking payments, and managing outstanding balances.
5. General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions. Reconcile accounts regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies.
6. Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Present findings to management to support decision-making.
7. Tax Compliance: Stay up-to-date with tax regulations and ensure timely and accurate tax filings. Collaborate with external tax advisors when necessary.
8. Inventory Control: Assist in inventory management and reconciliation to maintain accurate records of stock and costs.
9. Audit Support: Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
10. Financial Controls: Establish and maintain financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
11. Process Improvement: Continuously review accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and efficiency enhancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle complex financial data accurately.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Prior experience in hospitality-specific accounting software is a plus.
