About the role:
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a senior executive to join the world’s leading air cargo provider, Qatar Airways Cargo. We are seeking to hire a Vice President Cargo Operations to lead and manage all aspects of our cargo operations across our global network of 160+ destinations.

The Vice President Cargo Operations will play a key role in the organisation and be responsible for driving strategic operational leadership and general management for QR Cargo Operations ensuring, stable revenue and providing a professional and quality service. The VP will have overall responsibility for meeting and maintaining compliance standards on all operational, regulatory and quality requirements.

Accountabilities:
Strategic
- Recommend to Management plans related to operational efficiency and effectiveness, and execute growth of Cargo Operations in line with overall airline growth, while achieving and maintaining the highest possible service levels for all customers.
- Creates and sets future strategy for the business needs ensuring business requirements are identified and represented. Develop the department’s strategy in terms of customer focus, growth and expected results or KPIs and submit the same for Management approval.
- Develops and drives operational efficiencies in processes and oversees implementation within QR Cargo.
- Plan and develop infrastructure that enables the delivery of quality cargo handling at the Hub
- Strategic responsibility to develop, implement, measure and monitor network operational compliance.

Operational
- Provides proactive leadership in performance reporting on hub operations and within the network.
- Manages organizational growth strategy and skill/personnel requirements and development.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts in internal processes in operations and administration to ensure QR Cargo capability to be and maintain the status as cargo provider of choice. Lead, develop, implement and manage strategic business initiatives to achieve corporate cargo objectives for sustained and profitable growth.
- Lead, develop, implement new resources to generate additional revenues and increase the service levels in both existing and new markets.
- Identifies needs and devises solutions for analytical and automated management
- Oversee vigorous cargo operational safety, security and quality through regular audits and observations. Ensures compliance with all safety and security regulations and policies and ensure corrective actions are implemented for incidents / findings/reports.
- Drives cooperation with ISO Team to effectively implement Quality Management System within Cargo Operations.

IOSA Safety
- Responsible for the cargo operational safety, security and quality.
- Oversee vigorous cargo safety programmes by performing routine safety audits and observations.
- Publish, revise and authorise the Cargo and Mail Services Manual.
- Encourage free reporting of safety related hazards and occurrences.
- Investigate and mitigate Dangerous Goods related incidents and accidents.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 10+ years of job-related experience

Essential
- Experience within an airline or ground handling organization
- Experience in managing a large complex or facility
- Experience in transition of terminals

Preferred
Airline experience/air freight industry out of which preferably a minimum of 5 years at a Senior Manager level
