**IMPORTANT STEPS TO FOLLOW**:
**The primary responsibilities of the Senior Accountant - General Ledger (GL)**

**Functional Responsibilities**:

- Maintain General Ledger accuracy.
- Owner of Finance ERP Chart of Accounts.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Conduct month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, to ensure accurate and complete financial records.
- Ensure fixed assets, construction in progress, accruals, prepayments, and lease balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately monthly.
- Review and approve all high-risk balance sheet reconciliations before month end close, medium risk balance sheet reconciliations before end of month and mínimal risk balance sheet reconciliations every quarter.
- Assist with the preparation of regulatory filings, as required.
- Analyze month on month and quarter on quarter variances of actuals, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, and providing insights to management for decision-making purposes.
- Perform all month end entry vouchers, reversals, and other entries to provide an accurate and complete set of financial statements.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with business units and finance teams. Provide actual information as needed.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Provide support wherever required and assist the Financial Operations team with accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Stay updated on accounting principles, standards, and regulations, recommending, and implementing changes to accounting procedures and systems, as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Academic & Professional Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent.
- Accounting qualification (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA, etc.) required.

**Experience**:

- 8-10 years of experience in Finance Operations and specifically GL management.

**Skills and Requirements**:

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including experience with some of the following: general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, invoice processing, vendor management, payment disbursements, billing, invoicing, credit management, collections, asset acquisition, depreciation, asset disposals, or internal controls.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, as well as advanced skills in MS Excel for data analysis and manipulation.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work with large volumes of financial data while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
