**The job**
1. **HR Management**
You will lead and execute HR strategy, managing the full spectrum of HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee development. Your focus will be on building a high-performance culture, aligned with Virgin Active’s values. You will also serve as the primary HR advisor to leadership, ensuring best HR practices are embedded across the organization.
2. **Public Relations & Brand Representation**
As acting PRO, you will manage Virgin Active's external communications in Qatar. This includes developing and executing public relations strategies, media relations, corporate partnerships, and sponsorships. You will act as the face of Virgin Active in the local community and in key media channels, driving brand visibility and enhancing our reputation as a leading wellness brand.
3. **Compliance & Stakeholder Management**
You will ensure Virgin Active’s compliance with Qatar's labor laws, including all regulations related to recruitment, employee contracts, benefits, work permits, and visas. Additionally, you will maintain effective working relationships with key external stakeholders such as government authorities, legal advisors, and local partners, ensuring smooth operations and legal adherence.
**Key responsibilities**
1. **HR Strategy & Talent Management**
Develop and implement HR strategies that align with Virgin Active’s overall business objectives. Oversee all stages of talent management from recruitment to retention, ensuring that the company attracts, develops, and retains top talent. Manage the employee lifecycle from hiring to performance reviews, ensuring that processes support Virgin Active’s culture of excellence and inclusivity.
2. **Employee Relations & Engagement**
Create a positive and productive work environment by managing employee relations, addressing grievances, and ensuring effective communication across the organization. Develop initiatives that promote a culture of engagement, well-being, and professional growth. Act as a trusted advisor to employees and leadership, facilitating resolution of workplace issues and enhancing overall employee satisfaction.
3. **Public Relations & Brand Building**
Lead public relations efforts to elevate Virgin Active’s brand profile in Qatar. This includes developing media strategies, managing press releases, and cultivating relationships with media outlets, influencers, and key stakeholders. You will also organize events, manage corporate sponsorships, and work with the marketing team to ensure that Virgin Active’s values are reflected in all communications.
4. **Compliance & Legal Governance**
Ensure compliance with Qatar’s labor laws, regulations, and Virgin Active’s internal policies related to recruitment, employee benefits, compensation, and legal obligations. You will manage work permits, visa processes, and ensure the correct documentation for all employees. Collaborate with external legal counsel to ensure full regulatory compliance.
5. **Training & Development**
Oversee employee training and development programs to promote continuous learning and growth within the company. Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and ensure employees have access to the tools and training they need to succeed. Monitor training effectiveness and adjust programs to improve employee skills and performance.
6. **Crisis Management & Conflict Resolution**
Act as the first point of contact for resolving workplace conflicts or crises. You will manage difficult situations with empathy and professionalism, ensuring that all employees are treated fairly and with respect. Additionally, you will manage any potential legal issues arising from workplace disputes, mitigating risks and ensuring the organization maintains a healthy work environment.
**Key performance indicators**
1. **Recruitment Efficiency and Employee Retention**
Ensure timely and efficient recruitment for open positions while maintaining a strong talent pipeline for future hiring needs. Foster a positive work environment to support high employee retention, utilizing effective recruitment, engagement, and retention strategies.
2. **Employee Engagement and Training Completion Rate**
Focus on maintaining strong employee engagement through regular surveys and feedback to measure satisfaction and morale. Ensure high completion rates for all mandatory training and development programs, supporting continuous employee growth.
3. **Compliance & Regulatory Adherence**
Ensure full compliance with local labor laws and regulations, including employee-related reporting, visa, and work permit requirements.
