1. Design, lead, direct, and conduct original and innovative research in the field of his/her specialty in alignment with the national priorities, as stated in QU strategic plan and Qatar National Vision 2030.
2. Significantly participate in the current grant projects and develop proposals for new internally and externally funded projects in which he or she will serve as a Lead Principal Investigator (LPI) or PI
3. Generate impactful publications in indexed journals as per expectations from a faculty in the research associate professor rank
4. Supervise or co-supervise undergraduate and graduate students and junior staff in their research projects and contribute to assigned mínimal teaching and other related tasks.
5. Ensure the quality of research data collection, analysis, and evaluation.
6. Provide opportunities, initiatives, reports, and improve research policies and procedures.
7. Represent the center in scientific gatherings and outreach activities to disseminate research knowledge and information about the center.
8. Contribute to center management and participate in the various center’s committees and working groups, including help in staff recruitment, performance, and evaluation as per his/her assignment.
9. Ensure coordination, administrative, and technical assistance.
10. Ensure the validity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of research projects.
11. Perform other research tasks and duties that may be occasionally requested to meet the requirements of the role and the strategic plan of the research center.

**Qualifications**:

- Ph.D. degree from a reputable university in a relevant discipline with 1-2 postdoctoral experience
- A minimum of five years spent in the assistant professor rank or equivalent experience before appointment as a research associate professor
- A clear research vision and record of publications in indexed journals and funding related to one or more of the research group’s core area
- A strong track record of success in attaining research funding is required.
