**Job Summary**

The position is a research track academic rank for individuals engaged in research and typically assigned mínimal or no teaching responsibilities. The prospective research faculty is expected to cany out extensive and applied research in wild plant conservation, eco

**Key Responsibilities**
- Secure grants, conduct high-quality research, and regularly publish articles in high-impact peer-reviewed international scientific journals.
- Obtain and propagate plant materials as needed for ex-situ plant conservation research and other activities.
- Develop protocols and optimize methods for plants in-vitro conservation, especially rare and endangered species and plants of medicinal or economic importance.
- Establish a seed bank for rare and endangered plant species, as well as plants of medicinal or economic importance.
- Teaching, supervision, and mentorship of students from relevant departments.
- Contribute to various committee assignments at the ARS and/or Qatar University level as may be required.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned by the ARS director.

**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**

Ph.D. degree from a reputable university in a relevant discipline with 1-2 postdoctoral experience
- A minimum of five years spent in the assistant professor rank or equivalent experience before appointment as a research associate professor
- A clear research vision and record of publications in indexed journals and funding related to one or more of the research group’s core area
- A strong track record of success in attaining research funding is required.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Demonstrate general expertise in the field of natural products isolation and characterization
- Practical skills and experience with chromatographic analytical platforms for analysis of plant metabolites (e.g., GC-MS and LC-MS)
- Experience with target/non-target metabolomics; and strong NMR and mass spectrometry skills in compound characterization
- Familiarity with metabolomics databases and networking platforms
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Being able to multi-task with multiple projects and keep pace in a dynamic research environment
- Research experience in an arid climate is a plus.
