Bicycle Mechanic

**Job description**

The Mechanic is responsible for the effective and efficient installation, repair and maintenance of purchased items by the clients and ensuring provision of excellent aftersales customer service.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install, repair, and maintain outdoor and sports equipment as required through the job orders within the stipulated timeframe.
- Diagnose technical issues on items for repair and recommend solutions.
- Install and adjust speed and gear mechanisms.
- Assemble new bicycles.
- Install, repair, and replace equipment or accessories, such as handlebars, stands, lights, and seats.
- Align wheels.
- Disassemble axles in order to repair, adjust, and replace defective parts, using hand tools.
- Repair holes in tire tubes, using scrapers and patches.
- Maintain work tools and equipment.
- Follow set processes and policies.
- Take notes of all the works done on bikes + update the database

**Job Specific Skills**:

- Assembling/disassembling and identify different types bottom bracket
- Wheel building
- Crank arm replacement
- Change derailleurs
- Headset overhaul
- Changing brakes, brake levers and shifter levers
- Changing all kinds of cables
- Limit screws adjustment (both derailleurs)
- Center brakes
- Chain check, replacement

**Experience**:
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in bicycle and sports equipment shop
