Our reputable energy client is looking for Senior Environmental Analyst (Water) for their Corporate Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (BC) Department.

**Primary Purpose of Job**:

- Develop, maintain and communicate corporate level water and waste water management policies, standards, guidelines, specifications and best practice documentation and review them periodically for adequacy and effectiveness.
- Provide support on matters related to water remediation, waste water management, water minimization, resource recovery, and compliance, and supports the evaluation of the effectiveness of programs, process, and technology related to water and waste water management at company facilities and State.

**Principal Accountabilities**:
1. Provide guidance on industry best practice in managing water and industrial waste water, methods to reduce resource use and to avoid the attendant treatment, disposal cost and expenditures.

2. Supports the development of internal and corporate performance targets for water and waste water reduction and recycling relating to all operations and regional business units, by collaborating with all departments and operations across company.

3. Supports the development and implementation of corporate water minimization and recycling strategies, guidelines and standards to be used by all business units to enhance corporate environmental performance and to provide practical assistance in meeting internal corporate performance targets.

4. Supports Development corporate water remediation and water minimization studies and assessments and drives the collation of environmental data required for compilation of external and internal Corporate HSEQ reports.

5. Support the implementation of water management strategies and programs

6. Conduct on-site compliance inspections of sources, evaluate compliance and provide guidance on industry best practice in managing water and waste water and on methods of monitoring water and adoption of QA/QC protocols to provide reliable and defensible water data

7. Develops and maintains water inventory and tracking system, and co-ordinate the statutory water reporting, ensuring the daily, monthly and quarterly reports are recorded and submitted timeously by the Operations, reviewed and then forwarded to the relevant State authorities.

8. Participate and provide water and waste water management discipline expertise in the conduct of corporate integrated HSEQ scheduled audits, and provide input to corporate HSEQ audit plans and to the corrective action status reports issued to Management to bring audited facilities in compliance with State regulations and company environmental policy.

9. Participate (through supervisor) and provide water management discipline expertise to environmental regulatory bodies and other government authorities on matters related to rule making in the fields of water and waste water management regulations to preserve company business interests

10. Develop, in collaboration with learning and Development Department, corporate training materials to enhance company’s Operational and Regional employees’ competence in calculating and reporting water and waste water, and managing and conserving water

Decision Making Authority
- The position holder identifies current and potential non-compliance areas and proposes to business units effective solutions to minimize the risks to company business.
- The position holder operates with medium to high autonomy, except in very complex cases where he/she will seek the advice of his immediate supervisor.
- Along with supervisor, will provide arbitration on any internal water management issues that require resolution.

Context / Special Features / Challenges
- The position holder, while identifying potential and actual constraints and barriers to regulatory compliance, must recommend cost-effective and operationally viable solutions in his/her area of responsibility.
- Provide industrial water and waste water management expertise to regulatory bodies if requested.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
- Minimum 8 years of professional (direct/consulting/regulatory) experience in the oil and gas (O&G) industry, with experience in industrial water and waste water management, compliance assessment, auditing and reporting schemes (legal, corporate and management systems compliance).
- Good analytical skills and thorough knowledge of implementation of environmental regulations requirements within the O&G industry.
- Work experience in the preparation of standards, procedures, specifications and reports.
- Experience in the development of water inventories and audits, and waste water technologies is highly desirable.
- Work experience in preparation and implementation and follow up of water management reduction plans and programs.
- Excellent written and communication skills in English language. Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage.
