**About the role**

The role would direct professional Hygienists / Cleaning Specialist completing or overseeing a variety of investigative, cleaning inspection and consultative assignments to prevent occupational diseases and protect and improve health, work and living environment. The employee works within general methods and procedures and exercises considerable independent judgement to select the proper course of action. The work requires knowledge of the policies, procedures and regulations of specific industrial hygiene and cleaning programs and supervisory techniques, personnel policies and procedures in order to ensure business objectives are met.

**Accountabilities**

**Operational**
- Responsible to prepare policies and procedures to ensure that Cleaning and Hygiene levels are maintained with the highest degree of quality as per Qatar Airways standards.
- Responsible for planning, organizing and developing of the overall operation of the housekeeping of Qatar Airways Residential properties.
- The role would be actively involved in preparation of Scope of Services, Sanitation Standards, Tender documents, review existing contracts etc.
- High level of operational understanding and preparation of Scope of Work (SOW) would be a critical element of the job.
- Select and assigns staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
- Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
- Maintains records, prepares reports and composes correspondence related to the work.
- Reviews reports covering findings, propose corrective measures and compliance with health rules and standards.
- Interprets rules and regulations to senior management and provide valuable opinion.
- Develops regulations, rules and manuals governing the use of; regulate the disposal, procurement, storage, transportation of contaminates.
- Directs special assignments concerned with occupational health hazards, including health emergencies and special investigations.
- Determines Hygiene program needs and undertaking measures for program execution and completion.
- Ensure random hygiene checks are conducted.
- To prepare schedule for general hygiene inspection to ensure that the apartments are in good condition as per Qatar Airways standards.
- Actively participate in contract preparation for all Hygiene related contracts. This includes but not limited to preparation of scope of work, sending out purchase enquiry, raising RFQ/RFT, complete technical issuance, set up of technical evaluation criteria, contract preparation etc.
- Directs and participates in studies of health and hygiene, provide training to staff and service provider personnel. Ensure all workers are briefed about health and safety whilst ensuring hygiene related operations are carried out.
- Participates in educational programs to bring about the acceptance of corrective measures.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards within housekeeping division.
- Overall responsible for maintenance of cleaning standards across QR Residential buildings and Car Parking Facilities.
- Schedule and train all housekeeping staff members.
- Responsible to ensure service provider complies with contractual agreements.
- Implement Quality System through daily inspections schedules and unplanned checks.
- Ensure that ongoing training program is in place addressing quality and safety.
- Regularly visit the ongoing process and make changes wherever deemed necessary to ensure highest quality of service is rendered.
- Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

**Operational Safety**
- Responsible to ensure that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant QR Group induction, information, instruction, training and supervision.
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, security, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the operation to assure employee safety, security, legislative compliance and delivery of high quality service with a responsible environmental attitude.
- Take a direct and personal interest in reported injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards to ensure that appropriate reporting, investigation and response is being achieved.

**Environmental Competencies**
- Contribute towards Qatar Airways Group Environmental Objectives, targets, implementation and maintenance of the Environmental Management System.
