Junior Storekeeper

**About the role**

As a Junior Storekeeper, you will assist in arranging the stock in line with the storage strategy around the WMS. It involves handling stock, use of hand-held terminals and continuous physical movements. It also includes the necessity to carry out continuous Quality Control checks on all inward and outward stock being processed.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Ensures that all goods must be handled with utmost care by ensuring no damages.
- Conduct quality checks of inbound and outbound orders and consignments without any discrepancies.
- Ensure that all stock issues and any incidents are reported to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Check all basic documentation requirements while receiving shipments and transferring goods.
- Must adhere to all guidelines in relation to HIA Health and Safety, and immediately report any accidents or breaches of HIA Health & Safety rules to provide a safe working environment.
- Ensure proper housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Management.

Qualifications

**About You**:

- Working knowledge of Health and Safety Practice
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- 2 years of job related experience
- Materials handling/warehouse experience in similar environment/industry
- Ability to use Hand held terminals and computers to input information.
- Basic numerical skills for counting inventory.
- Ability to read, comprehend and communicate in English.
- Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to lift / move / maneuver goods up to 30kg.
- Ability to maneuver heavy pallets of stock through the facility.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching during entire length of the shift.
- Must be honest, trust worthy, and respectful.
- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Be flexible, Must be ready to work in shifts.
- Demonstrate good work ethics.
- Deal with other team members in a positive, courteous and respectful manner
- Warehouse environment, noise level may on some occasions be moderately high.
- May be exposed to outdoors and variable temperatures, including extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the job specifications.
