**About the role**:
As a Manager Air Traffic Management (ATM) you will be responsible for strategic and operational responsibility for the Air Traffic Management (ATM) section which includes Air Navigation Charges (ANC), Overflight Permissions and optimization of airspace utilization and air traffic flows within Qatar Airways route network for safety, flight and fuel efficiency. The responsibility is to ensure adequate representation of Qatar Airways interests at regional and international industry groups/forums (such as IATA, ICAO, and CANSO).

**Additional responsibilities**:

- Develop and foster relationships with industry partners and stakeholders within the ATM environment in order to address company requirements related to air traffic management and air navigation charges.
- Maintain business awareness on technological evolution in the field of Air Traffic Management and Communication, Navigation, Surveillance (ATM/CNS) on a global scale to ensure Qatar Airways can take advantage of these developments when implemented to benefit safety and flight efficiency.
- Represent and participate at ATM industry groups and forums such as IATA, ICAO, and CANSO on behalf of Qatar Airways.
- Manage airspace restrictions and prohibitions in accordance with company airspace policy.
- Ensure Over flight Permissions for both scheduled and ad hoc operations are secured on time and in a manner that promotes utilization of efficient routings.
- Ensure timely provision of annual air navigation charges budget, and monthly forecasts of ANC charges to Finance department.
- Ensure Qatar Airways engagement with Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) through Government, industry consultation in order to lobby for transparent and justifiable Air Navigation Charges.
- Develop and maintain the ATM procedures Manual.
- Develop the ATM strategy for the section and provide the framework for ATM initiatives to achieve safe and efficient operation of Qatar Airways aircraft.
- Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
- Perform other departmental duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualifications

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level or equivalent
- Minimum of ten (10) years working experience within an Air Traffic Management environment for either an Air Navigation Services Provider (ANSP) or Airline Flight Operations environment or related organization engaged in ATM activities.

**Preferred**
- Hold Flight Dispatch License/Certification or ATC, ATM qualification.
- Sound knowledge of ICAO documentation on Global Air Navigation Plan, Global ATM Concept and Aviation Systems Block Upgrades (ASBUs).
- Familiar with the use of computerized flight planning software, preferable Lido OC.

**Previous Experience**:
**Essential**
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience
- Subject matter expert in the field of Air Traffic Management
- Comprehensive knowledge of ATC procedures, and CNS/ATM Technology
- Demonstrate active participation in regional and international aviation industry forums
- Experience managing a section within a Flight Operations division with demonstrable people management skills
