**Lead Finance Officer -Tax Planning & Compliance**

**About the role**
You will be responsible for developing the Qatar VAT and any other Indirect Tax strategy across the Qatar Airways (QR group, implement Qatar VAT policies and procedures for accounting, compliance and audit, provide training to Business Unit (BU) leaders on the implications of Qatar VAT, manage the Indirect Tax risk across the group, remaining up to date on tax legislation and updates, tailoring reports for BU Managers in Qatar VAT enabled Module within ERP system.

**Accountabilities**:

- Lead the overall strategic implementation of Qatar VAT across QR.
- Detection and evaluation of risks as well as opportunities regarding tax issues from a Qatar VAT perspective.
- Ensure Qatar Airways complies with Qatar VAT regulations.
- Advising top management on tax planning measures for maximization of benefits to QR.
- Developing methods of ensuring tax optimization for Qatar Airways as per Qatar VAT law and practices adopted in respective tax jurisdiction where QR operates.
- Maintain the confidentiality of company information and ensure minimum disclosure while meeting the legal requirements.
- Ensure that all documentation relating to Qatar VAT compliance is maintained for reference purposes and maintaining full control of all regulatory compliance obligations.
- Make sure timely compliance to Qatar VAT tax laws and other regulatory laws to avoid any consequences to Qatar Airways.

**Qualifications**:
**About you**

You will possess:

- A minimum of 5 years specialist of job-related experience required.
- Qualified CA, ACCA or CPA.
- Rich experience in Indirect tax planning, compliances.
- Well versed with VAT regulations and the potential issues / risk from an Airlines Industry perspective.
- Working in compliance department handling both direct /indirect tax compliance in a large scale organization or multinational organization.
- Sound understanding of tax principles governing compliance of Indirect Tax laws.
- Able to correctly interpret the provisions of tax laws to comply with the provision of laws.
- Understanding of provisions relating to computation of taxable income, assessment, appeal procedures.
- Good communication skills to effectively communicate the message to all stakeholders.
