Our esteemed client in Qatar is seeking a Vessel Traffic Planner for one of their ports in Qatar. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in managing vessel movements and logistics deployment to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of one of the region’s leading ports.

**Primary Purpose of the Job**:
As the Vessel Traffic Planner, you will be responsible for meticulously planning and scheduling vessel movements, as well as coordinating the deployment of logistics and resources required for seamless marine operations. Your strategic insights and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in maintaining the port’s impeccable reputation for reliability and efficiency.

**Experience & Skills**:
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years’ working experience, including at least 5 years in port or terminal scheduling. Your analytical prowess and proactive approach to planning and troubleshooting will set you apart in this role. As challenges arise, your resourcefulness and ability to work under pressure with agility to meet tight deadlines will be invaluable.

You will have the independence to make informed decisions while displaying resourcefulness in finding optimal solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to build strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

**Education**:
To excel in this role, you should possess a Degree in Marine Operations, Logistics (or similar) or hold the esteemed title of Master Mariner Class 2. These educational qualifications will form the foundation of your expertise in overseeing marine operations in a busy port setting.

**Responsibilities**:
Efficiently plan and schedule vessel movements to maximize port utilization and minimize berthing conflicts.

Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure the smooth deployment of logistics and resources for all marine operations.

Oversee the coordination of vessel arrivals, departures, and timely loading/unloading operations.

Monitor and analyse port performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective strategies.

Address any operational challenges promptly and develop innovative solutions to optimize efficiency.

Comply with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.

Foster strong working relationships with shipping companies, terminal operators, and other stakeholders to enhance port partnerships.

Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices to implement cutting-edge strategies.
