**Summary**:
The Art History Program at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts Qatar (VCUArts Qatar) is establishing a pool of applicants for possible adjunct teaching positions in the Spring and Fall 2025 academic terms. This pool will only be accessed when an adjunct opportunity arises. If an adjunct opportunity arises, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

**Duties Include**:
1. Teaching courses as needed
2. Developing course syllabi
3. Working with department faculty on course planning
4. Working comfortably with Canvas, the University’s Learning Management System
5. Holding one office hour per week per course taught
6. Providing feedback to students and grading all assessments in a timely manner
7. Submitting midterm and final grades according to University policy

**_ Please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of adjunct vacancies from semester to semester. However, we invite qualified applicants who are willing to accept part-time teaching work on an as-needed basis to apply._**

**Qualifications**

**Required Qualifications**
- Graduate degree in art history or a closely related discipline
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills and demonstrated enthusiasm toward teaching and interacting with students and faculty within a multicultural environment
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as an adjunct faculty member at VCUarts Qatar
- Ability to teach the introductory, global survey of art history
- Ability to teach upper-division courses in area of specialization

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Doctoral degree in art history
- 2 years of undergraduate teaching experience
