- Operates CNC plasma table for cutting piece parts and steel plate
- Verifies conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and fixed or telescoping gauges
- Reads and interprets machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements
- Selects and sets cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties
- Ensures safety operating procedures are followed throughout projects
- Inspects and performs minor maintenance on all assigned machines
- Maintains shop equipment, tools and production records
- Maintains appropriate levels of immediate on-hand inventory and reorders when appropriate
- Maintains a neat and orderly workstation with equipment in safe operating condition
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
- May perform initial rolling of both inners/outers and prepare for tack and seam welding to supplement manpower
