Minimum 5 years experience in similar position

Previous experience in a high quality, destination hotel or private members club as a Cigar Sommelier

A keen interest in cigars and the wish to develop your knowledge and progress

A cigar qualification would be an advantage but not essential

Be able to work effectively as part of a team

Communicate clearly, professionally and concisely

Have the knowledge and understanding to explain and perform upselling all items offered by the department assigned as well as offering alternatives.

Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.

Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.

**Cigar Sommelier** you will report to the Head of Cigars and work closely with the other Cigar Sommeliers, Spirit Sommelier and Wine Sommeliers delivering the highest levels of cigar service to our members. As Cigar Sommelier you will be responsible for suggesting and serving cigars, recommending matches to spirits, wines and drinks. In addition you will replenish stock as required and participate in stock takes.

Have an excellent understanding of today’s wine trends, ratings as well as understands the business and regularly develops further to gain greater knowledge.

Have an excellent understanding of wines, the wine service and is able to hold trainings to the team to encourage sales.

Be able to control stocks, produce efficient costing of wines as well as perform excellent recommendations to guests.

Be knowledgeable about Wine Service and Wine production
