Assistant Finance Manager

**Purpose Statement**
- Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for assisting the HOFA in managing the department and assisting in various management reports related to Management and local authorities.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Liaison with Finance personnel of the subsidiaries for collating necessary information and coordinating with auditors, consultants and external parties.
2. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
3. Establishing the procedures for custody and control of assets, records, loan collateral, and securities, in order to ensure safekeeping.
4. Oversee the operations of the finance department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
5. Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of employees in the department
6. Review collection reports to determine the status of collections and the amounts of outstanding balances.
7. Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment
8. Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements
9. Maintain banking relationships.
10. Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure
11. Arrange for equity and debt financing
12. Manage the preparation of the company's budget
13. Report to HOFA on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances
14. Assist HOFA in the formulation of its overall strategic direction.
15. Prepare financial and regulatory reports required by laws, regulations, and boards of directors.
16. Prepare operational and risk reports.
17. Analyse and classify risks and investments to determine their potential impacts on companies.
18. Involve and recommend in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company.
19. Review the performance of the company divisions and report on key issues
20. Assist in evaluating financial reporting systems, accounting and collection procedures, and investment activities, and make recommendations for changes to procedures, operating systems, budgets, and other financial control functions.
21. Create additional analyses and reports as requested by HOFA
22. In charge of Accounts payables - Ensuring Urgent payments are done on time -Reconciling the major supplier accounts on monthly basis and resolving the issues.

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- Chartered Accountant
- A minimum of 5 years in Financial analysis / reporting (or) Audit Firm post qualification.
