SPED TEACHER Job Description:
- Develop and provide specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with autism;
- Evaluate and assesses student progress against instructional objectives;
- Follow the mandated due process procedures and functions;
- Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to
- instructional techniques;
- Develops and implement annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals
- and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals.
- Creates a positive learning experience with emphasis on individualized instruction using appropriate sources including KEBBI robot and i-pads;
- Conducts special education evaluations and reevaluations;
- Create and implement home programs for therapy strategies, suggestions, and treatment plans with goals and objectives;
- Submit progress reports and feedback for every session and training to hisorher immediate supervisor.
- Design Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs)
- Create educational toolkits for schools
- Assist the in-house psychologist
- Collaborate with partner schools/companies to track clients’ progress
- Adapt learning materials to students' needs
- Monitor children's behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- A minimum B.A. or B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate special education area
- teaching license in the required content area.
- Thorough knowledge of special education and specialty area principles, practices, and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching of students with disabilities
- Thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior
- ability to deliver and articulate oral presentations and written reports.
- Ability to effectively analyze needs and problems objectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, students, parents, staff, administration, and the general public.
- Perform all work-related activities delegated or required to accomplish the program’s objectives.
- knowledge of relevant technology, including the use of technology to individualize instruction.
- knowledge and skills in working with children with ASD and behavioral and emotional disabilities.
- Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work regularly and punctually.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Doha: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Bachelor's (preferred)
**Experience**:
- SPED teacher: 2 years (preferred)
**Language**:
- English, knows Arabic an advantage (preferred)
License/Certification:
- Teaching License (preferred)
