Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a skilled Traffic Management Supervisor to oversee the movement of cargo via land, air, and sea. The successful candidate will be responsible for training, planning, and executing shipment operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining effective logistics functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shipment Planning and Execution
    • Schedule work priorities based on day-to-day traffic management operations.
    • Develop and implement work standards, identify training deficiencies, and provide training and supervision for personnel.
    • Verify completeness and accuracy of transportation data.
  • Cargo Management
    • Properly classify freight and select the most efficient mode of shipment.
    • Prepare all required shipping documents and maintain logs.
    • Inspect hazardous materials to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Asset Visibility and Tracking
    • Provide asset visibility and real-time tracking for customer queries.
  • Customs Clearance and Compliance
    • Perform customs clearances and liaise with relevant authorities.
  • Operations and Maintenance
    • Load and unload cargo, perform inspections, and report as required.
    • Implement, document, and control quality, environmental, and safety programs.
    • Maintain technical orders, publications, forms, and files required for traffic management operations.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient in personal computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in traffic management or related field.
  • Must possess a current HAZMAT certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of related shipping/receiving procedures preferred.
