Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

At Duncan & Ross, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex structural engineering projects, providing technical expertise and coordinating with other disciplines to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Design and review the design of various types of structures, including bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
  • Produce and review design drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Supervise other engineers and CAD teams as per project tasks assigned.
  • Act as a checker within the team to ensure the quality of deliverables prior to formal client submissions.
  • Communicate with other technical disciplines to produce well-coordinated designs that ensure satisfaction of functionality and serviceability requirements and clash-free configurations.
  • Track the progress of assigned designs and report to the Design Manager and Project Managers on the status and any issues that may arise during design development.
  • Support other engineering activities as required by the principal engineer and design manager.
  • Regularly interface with clients and other departments on matters relating to work assignments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering and 8 years of related work experience.
  • Must be MME registered.
  • Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Revit software.
  • Must hold international recognized licenses such as PE, SE, and CEng.
  • Work experience must be related to hands-on design production and review of structures.
  • Intimate knowledge of software such as Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Structural Bridge Design (Auto Desk), AutoCAD, Bentley RAM connections/elements, Prokon.
  • Intimate knowledge of design codes such as Ashghal IAN009, and other structural design-related Interim Advice Notes, British Standards, Eurocode, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports with organized structure and minimal need for grammatical corrections, and to hold articulate verbal communications.
  • Good verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, management, and project personnel on technical and non-technical subjects.
  • Be self-motivated and require minor supervision on committed tasks.
  • Native-level English speaking and writing skills.
