Job Title: Structural Engineer

At Duncan & Ross, we are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and ensuring the safety and functionality of structures such as buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed structural designs for bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
  • Produce design drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Supervise other engineers and CAD teams as per project tasks assigned.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Utilize standard engineering principles, techniques, and analyses to complete conventional moderately complex assignments within the structure discipline.
  • Work with engineering software packages associated with the structures discipline.
  • Track the progress of assigned designs and report to senior and principal engineers on status and any issues that may arise.
  • Support other engineering activities as required by senior and principal engineers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering and 3 years of related work experience.
  • Masters Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
  • Possession of internationally recognized engineering licenses such as PE, SE, and CEng is highly preferred.
  • Must be MME registered.
  • Work experience must be related to hands-on design of structures.
  • Intimate knowledge of software such as Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Structural Bridge Design (Auto Desk), AutoCAD, Bentley RAM connections/elements, Prokon.
  • Intimate knowledge of design codes such as Ashghal IAN009, and other structural design-related Interim Advice Notes, British Standards, Eurocode, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Familiarity with Revit software.
  • Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports with organized structure and minimal need for grammatical corrections, and to hold articulate verbal communications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally on technical and non-technical subjects.
