Job Description

The Instrument Precom Lead Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of instrument precommissioning activities, ensuring they are carried out safely and efficiently. Key tasks include preparation and issuance of operational tests, supervision of daily activities, and organization of teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Preparation and issuance of operational tests and pre-start-up procedures to ensure smooth project execution.
  2. Supervising day-to-day execution of instrument precommissioning activities, focusing on safe and efficient work practices.
  3. Ensuring adherence to the Permit to Work System, guaranteeing a secure working environment.
  4. Leading a team of engineers and technicians in precommissioning activities, providing guidance and technical expertise.
  5. Compilation of punch lists in collaboration with contractors and company representatives.
  6. Maintenance and review of as-built drawings according to project procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  7. Conducting inspections, surveys, and checks to verify compliance with Project Specifications, including ATEX certified equipment.
  8. Safeguarding the safety and security of all activities and personnel under their control.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Possess at least 10 years of experience in a similar position, demonstrating expertise in electrical precommissioning.
  2. Provide evidence of formal education in Instrument & Control Engineering or a related field.
  3. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  4. Showcase experience working with multicultural project teams, fostering collaboration and understanding.
  5. Possess at least 5 years of experience in precommissioning Offshore Gas Production facilities, with a focus on instrumentation and control systems.
  6. Have experience with Pre-Comm & Comm and Start-Up of instrumentation & control field devices, ATEX certified equipment, RTU/SCADA & PLC's, Smart Instrumentation/HART protocol, and Fire & Gas detectors.
  7. Possess familiarity with ATEX certification and hold a valid certificate of training on ATEX certified equipment.
  8. Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical precommissioning, with a focus on substations and motor solo run tests, LV/MV systems, GIS, and transformer installation and testing.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute electrical precommissioning plans, specifically focusing on substation and motor solo run tests, to ensure seamless project progression.
  2. Coordinate with project managers to align precommissioning activities with overall project timelines, ensuring timely completion.
  3. Lead a team of electrical precommissioning technicians and engineers, guiding them towards successful task execution.
  4. Provide technical support and expertise to ensure the successful execution of precommissioning tasks.
  5. Develop detailed test procedures for substation equipment and motor solo run tests, adhering to project specifications and industry standards.
  6. Ensure that procedures comply with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations, safeguarding the well-being of personnel and equipment.
  7. Conduct precommissioning tests on transformers to guarantee proper functionality and prevent potential issues.
