Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Canonical. This is a unique opportunity to lead our regulatory and legal compliance process, policy, and activities on a global basis.

This role involves identifying and managing regulatory risk across multiple jurisdictions, working closely with our global general counsel and local counsel in various countries. You will be responsible for conducting research and monitoring emerging regulatory requirements, reviewing and maintaining existing processes and policies, and providing high-quality legal and compliance advice.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and mitigate risks, including data privacy processes, customer enquiries, contractual compliance, supplier and personnel compliance. Your input will also contribute to IPO activities and the development of processes to mitigate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) risks.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. As a member of our remote-first team, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and collaborate with colleagues worldwide.
