Job Overview:

This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of projects, ensuring timely completion and optimal productivity. The Production Engineer will work closely with other discipline engineers, project construction managers, fabrication planning engineer, fabrication superintendents, procurement personnel, yard supervision, material control & warehousing personnel, drafting personnel to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate inter-discipline collaboration among team members throughout the project phases.
  2. Monitor and report project progress regularly.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the contractual scope of work, contract type, and milestone schedules.
  4. Evaluate constructability and develop a work execution plan that maximizes productivity.
  5. Organize fabrication look ahead meetings and prioritize material and drawings accordingly.
  6. Document all scope of work changes (change orders) and coordinate AFC estimate updates.
  7. Solve technical problems and initiate site queries to minimize work disruption and optimize productivity.
  8. Predict fabrication requirements to meet project contract schedule and highlight any issues to Senior Production Engineer or Fabrication Operations Engineer.
  9. Collaborate with MTO, warehouse, drafting teams to issue work packs.
  10. Issue work packs and oversee their execution.
  11. Develop a project-specific task listing.
  12. Participate in fabrication kick-off meeting at the commencement of the project.
  13. Inform Senior Production Engineer or Fabrication Operations Engineer of any project issues affecting forecasted progress, productivity, and schedule commitments.
  14. Create a work pack index and establish priorities and deliverable dates for discipline teams.
  15. Review input deliverable dates (material & drawings) and advise on their impact to fabrication schedule.
  16. AUTHORIZE technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the client.
  17. Contribute to the development of project fabrication execution plan to meet contract requirements effectively.
  18. Prepare project fabrication lessons learned.
  19. IDentify project risks and opportunities.
  20. Establish a productive working relationship with client representatives.
  21. Provide field guidance to meet project specifications, schedule, and targets.
  22. Participate in regular site and look ahead meetings and provide feedback.
  23. COLLABORATE with subcontractors for completion of works.
  24. COLLABORATE with construction engineering team.
  25. Participate in QHSES initiatives and drive achieving objectives. Follow company policies.
