Campus Nurse Job Description

The Campus Nurse at Oryx Universal College in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University plays a pivotal role in providing essential healthcare services, promoting health education, and ensuring the well-being of the college community, including students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, including first aid and emergency response, to students, faculty, and staff in case of injury or acute illness.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, adhering to established medical guidelines and protocols.
  • Effectively manage the campus health clinic, ensuring readiness and adequacy of medical supplies for emergencies.
  • Conduct regular health screenings, assessments, and monitor ongoing health conditions to ensure the health and well-being of the college community.
  • Develop and implement health and wellness programs, workshops, and initiatives to foster a healthy lifestyle among students and staff.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of health records and ensure compliance with health data privacy regulations.
  • Coordinate with local healthcare providers and hospitals for external medical care and emergency services as needed.
  • Provide support and health education to students with special health needs through tailored health care plans and counseling.
  • Collaborate with the college administration to formulate health and safety policies and procedures that promote a healthy and safe environment for all members of the college community.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited university.
  • Valid nursing license from the candidate's home country.
  • Successful completion of the Qatar Prometric examination for nurses.
  • At least three years of professional nursing experience, preferably in an educational or community health setting.
  • Proficient in emergency response with strong clinical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse population.
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems and electronic health record management.
  • Knowledgeable in developing and implementing health promotion and wellness programs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage health clinic operations with minimal supervision.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are highly desirable.
