At Qatar Airways, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Cargo Operations department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety and security management systems that meet national and international regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing safety and security performance indicators in line with business requirements.
  • Implementing a safety and security management system based on a preventive approach.
  • Establishing and promoting Qatar Airways' safety and security policy and objectives.
  • Promoting a culture of safety awareness among all staff.
  • Developing and implementing emergency response and security contingency plans.
  • Reviewing and updating the QAS Cargo Security Program annually.
  • Ensuring safety and security risk assessments are performed to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Liaising with cargo leadership to define and communicate expectations of safety, security, and training within the business.

About you

Essential qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience in safety, OHS, and security management in a mid-to-large scale operational environment.
  • Investigation techniques, principles of safety management system implementation, hazard and risk management, and NEBOSH Diploma in OHS management.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Expert knowledge of operational safety and security procedures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Occupational Health and Safety concepts, theories, and principles.
  • Knowledgeable in safety standards as set by ICAO/IATA and security standards as per QCAA/IATA and other regulatory bodies.
  • Proven performance results, ability to effectively communicate, and strong leadership skills.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Airline and/or ground handling management related courses.
  • Safety management experience in the Aviation Industry.
  • Human factors awareness training.
  • Experience in Dangerous goods, Emergency response planning, and Management of change.
  • Certified trainer - LEAP/PTTLS or equivalent training certification.
