Job Title: Laboratory Technician

At SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team in Doha, Qatar.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving an incident-free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture. This will involve ensuring compliance with HSE legislation, company standards, and procedures to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, and a responsible environment attitude.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Operating Procedures and Guidelines within the Asset to ensure Process Safety, Operational Safety, and Plant Integrity.
  • Identify opportunities and champion initiatives that enable maximum production and injection output within the parameters of environmental compliance and process safety.
  • Provide Team Lead with regular reports with analysis and comment on performance and results.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties, functional teams, and corporate groups as required to meet MOQ's strategic business and operational objectives.
  • Contribute to Improvements, development, and Implementation of department activities, processes, and procedures.
Operational Responsibilities:
  • Gather and interpret stream analysis data.
  • Prepare production laboratory analysis reports and advise.
  • Ensure specifications are met.
  • Prepare accurate laboratory activity log, ensure comprehensive and accurate handover.
  • Conduct regular calibration of laboratory analytical instruments.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment integrity and consumable stocks.
  • Ensure chemical injections optimization and assist with chemical stock control.
  • Train production personnel in sampling techniques and basic analysis methods.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have graduated with a minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent). Relevant work experience: minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
