Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Massage Therapist to join our team at Fairmont Breakers, a luxury hotel and spa located in Long Beach, California. As a Lead Massage Therapist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional massage therapy services to our guests, while also leading and training a team of service providers to ensure consistent high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Professional Massage Therapy Services: Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to our guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere during arrival and departure, and during treatments.
  • Lead and Train Team Members: Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance, interact and communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management team, and provide an exceptional experience to all guests.
  • Perform Massage Treatments: Perform 45, 60, 90, and 120-minute massages as required, while maintaining the client's comfort at all times.
  • Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Promptly handle any guest comments, complaints, or concerns with discretion and urgency, ensuring individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to their needs and expectations.
  • Maintain a Clean and Hygienic Environment: Maintain a clean, hygienic, and neat work environment at all times, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order, and prepare and refresh treatment rooms for guests.
  • Assist with Spa Operations: Actively participate in other areas of spa operations, such as body treatments and product knowledge, and maintain cleanliness and stock all wellness facilities as needed.
  • Upsell and Promote Retail Sales: Use upselling techniques to actively promote retail sales and enhancements, and assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way.
  • Maintain Brand and Quality Standards: Maintain all brand and quality luxury service standards, consistency in accordance to Forbes/LQA and Fairmont standards, and conduct audits amongst the team, conduct self-audits, and participate in the feedback review to improve service levels.
  • Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times, and that all colleagues are committed to working safely, and ensure confidentiality of all guest sensitive information at all times.

Requirements:

  • Certification: Certification from an accredited school of Massage required, and Certified in California namely California Massage Therapy Council.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a lead therapist required, and previous training experience required.
  • Luxury Environment: Previous experience in a luxury environment preferred.
  • Professional Licenses: All professional licenses are to be current.
  • CPR and First Aid: CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, highly responsible and reliable, ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Availability: Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Professional Image and Personality: Must have a professional image and personality, positive attitude, committed to delivering a high level of customer service, strong guest service orientation required.
