Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Communications Specialist to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a key member of our Mission Technologies division, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining customer networks, ensuring requirements are met, and managing network infrastructure and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain customer networks, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Design, implement, and migrate complex network and communications projects.
  • Experience with routing and switching technologies, including Cisco IOS.
  • Firewall and load balancing implementation experience.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols.
  • Understanding of VLAN, SVI, STP, VDC, VPC.
  • Understanding of DNS and DHCP.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network and system connectivity issues.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently or as a contributing member to the team.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.
Requirements
  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience monitoring information, system networks, troubleshooting communications equipment, and determine the structure of network systems.
  • Experience leading enterprise projects for networks and storage.
  • Experience testing equipment such as: cable and fiber optics.
  • Cisco wireless networking and management experience.
  • Cisco routing and switching technologies.
  • Documenting network enterprise, developing continuity folders, and as built drawings.
  • Possess one or all of the following certifications: A+, Net+, Sec+, ITIL, CCNA.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must have the ability to successfully pass CENTCOM medical requirements.
  • Must possess a valid U.S Passport.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI with ability to obtain a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clearance: Possess a TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • Designed network solutions.
  • Previously responsible for enterprise projects for networks and storage.
Physical Requirements

This position may be located in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment.
