Job Description

Raffles Doha is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Maintenance Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete Maintenance Work Orders: Ensure timely completion of maintenance work orders from all departments, adhering to Raffles Doha's standard operating procedures.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within hotel rooms and public areas, ensuring optimal functionality and guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to Maintenance Calls: Promptly and efficiently respond to maintenance calls from guests and other departments, resolving issues to the guest's satisfaction.
  • Guest Service: Respond courteously to guest requests, prioritizing their needs and resolving matters efficiently.
  • Prioritize Maintenance Issues: Effectively prioritize maintenance issues, attending to critical breakdowns and machinery malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintenance Activities: Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms and public areas, including electrical equipment, plumbing, and air conditioning systems.
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various types of equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Fire Safety and Security: Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems, understanding system operations and handling emergencies effectively.
  • System Operation and Maintenance: Understand and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and water systems, ensuring smooth functioning.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate effectively with various departments, providing information and assistance as needed.
  • Problem-Solving and Repair: Utilize technical abilities and problem-solving skills to repair equipment effectively and efficiently.
  • Logbook Maintenance: Maintain a daily logbook of work completed during shifts, ensuring accurate records.
  • Duty Delegation: Delegate duties to engineering team leaders and technicians as necessary.
  • Shift Handover: Complete daily checklists and ensure smooth handover to the next shift, providing regular briefings to shift staff.
  • Guest Complaints and Maintenance: Enter guest complaints and back-of-house complaints into the engineering control desk logbook, ensuring prompt attention.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring all equipment and designated areas meet required standards.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition, adhering to Raffles Doha's standards.
  • Engineering Working Area: Maintain the engineering working area and control desk in a good condition at all times.
  • Maintenance Inventory: Maintain maintenance inventory, requisitioning parts and supplies as needed.
  • Staff Training and Development: Train and instruct other staff members through knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Firefighting Training: Attend firefighting classes and obtain thorough knowledge of firefighting appliances.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other job assigned by management as required.
