Job Summary and Purpose

As a key member of the Nakilat team, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities related to the company's operations in NSW. The successful candidate will ensure that financial management reports are informative, timely, and accurate, and in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

The Finance Manager will also be responsible for implementing sustainable financial controls to ensure that the company's operations and business are profitable. This will involve managing and implementing financial policies and procedures, as well as overseeing the company's financial planning and budgeting processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the formulation of the divisional strategy in alignment with Nakilat and NSW strategies, and support its implementation.
  2. Financial Planning and Analysis: Participate in translating the divisional strategy into annual business plans, monitor implementation and progress, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  3. Financial Operations: Plan, develop, and lead an efficient and robust Finance function to support NSW's strategic planning initiatives, operations, and activities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  1. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that support the company's financial practices and achieve planned objectives.
  2. Oversee all applicable financial controls and ensure adequate assessment and mitigation of risk, as well as compliance with applicable regulatory and other legal requirements.
  3. Provide an independent and constructive perspective to commercial and operations teams, ensuring that business decisions are grounded on solid financial criteria.
  4. Support the NSW Managing Director with insights on the company's financial position, presenting an objective view of the financial situation and providing sound recommendations for the allocation of resources to achieve business goals and objectives.
  5. Oversee activity-based costing and make recommendations for cost reduction and profit improvement.
  6. Lead all functional objectives and KPIs set by the company in accordance with the approved plan and timelines.
  7. Review monthly budget variances analysis and segment profitability, and recommend corrective action to avoid adverse variances and deviation from the business plan.
  8. Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  9. Oversee relationships with various stakeholders, including external auditors and Nakilat Finance.
  10. Build team skills through transformation initiatives and major change programs, and raise awareness and knowledge of applicable financial policies and procedures.
  11. Manage NSW Finance staff to deliver set functional objectives.

Qualifications, Experience, and Job Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and job skills:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master's Degree and/or specialized professional certificates
  • Experience: 12 to 15 years of related experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role/responsibility
  • Job Specific Skills: Microsoft Office, IFRS, GAAP, Industry-specific software such as Great Plains, QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, SAP, CaseWare, tax preparation software, MIS, and Audit Command Language
