Quality Specialist Job Description

As a Quality Specialist at Hitachi Energy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to represent the voice of the customer within our local team, ensuring that customer feedback is collected, evaluated, and used to drive continuous improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Challenging teams with customer experience feedback and input to decisions
  • Enabling and training employees to evaluate risks, problems, and solutions from a customer/stakeholder point of view
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Working within local teams/organization to apply appropriate methods to prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers
  • Providing confidence that customer and stakeholder needs/expectations will be fulfilled
  • Driving the utilization of process management across own organization
  • Driving quality assurance and built-in quality of deliveries
  • Ensuring that the quality assurance process steps are documented in the IMS to deliver consistent results, minimizing variation, and maximizing efficiencies
  • Performing audits and using Quality data analytics from all parts of the operation to identify risks, failures, and nonconformances within the local operations, its suppliers, and customers
  • Quality & CI Governance: Leading the local teams in the application of process management, serving operational and business needs
  • Ensuring that processes are continually evaluated for effectiveness
  • Ensuring that quality & CI processes are implemented
  • Quality management system takes responsibility for the local Quality Management System and leads local teams to use it to provide the local organization with procedures and documentation that sufficiently describe their work activities
  • Driving and supporting local organization to analyze performance, assure compliance, and continuously improve to ensure an efficient Quality Management System
  • Continuous Improvement Deployment: Using continuous improvement, L6S, and other CI methodologies to ensure the successful deployment of the local business strategy
  • Facilitating best practice sharing within local organization
  • Providing organization-wide visibility of the current portfolio of continuous improvement efforts; tracking via metrics/KPIs progress and value from these efforts
  • Change Management: Promoting and supporting behavioral change to continuously improve function performance through programs and initiatives
  • Contribute to identifying and escalating barriers to change
