Lead Professor of Smart Manufacturing

Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished academic leader to join our College of Engineering Technology as a Senior Faculty Member in Mechanical Engineering and Production. The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement of our programs and the development of our students through teaching, research, and service activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching courses within the Mechanical Engineering Agricultural and related diploma and degree programs.
- Development and evaluation of course materials, assessment of student progress, and resource management for learning environments.
- Collaboration with industry partners and other educational institutions to foster partnerships and knowledge exchange.
- Participation in industry advisory committees and coordination of final year/capstone projects.
- Promotion of applied and experiential learning as a pedagogy and contribution to its enhancement.
Requirements
A PhD in smart manufacturing/production from a recognized institution is required. Candidates must also possess a Master's degree in mechanical/mechatronics/Automation/robotics engineering and a Bachelor's degree in the same field.
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, including CNC lathe and milling machines, 3D printers, and other metal removal machines. A demonstrated record of academic experience, a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in higher education or industry training, and research experience with evidence of output are also essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Able to use diverse and current teaching approaches in the classroom and for practice experiences.
- Competent in using educational technology and platforms.
- Able to demonstrate academic and information literacy skills.
Scholarly Output
Contribution to the advancement of knowledge through applied research, scholarship, publications, knowledge transfer, or professional practice is expected. Professional recognition and standing amongst peers, academic subject leadership, and academic management are also desirable.
