BIM Specialist

At Brunel Qatar, we are seeking a skilled BIM Technician to join our team. As a BIM Technician, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of our projects, working closely with our BIM Specialist and BIM Coordinator to ensure the successful implementation of BIM technology.

• Assist the BIM Specialist and BIM Coordinator in the BIM delivery for projects within the Department.
• Develop and deliver structured BIM models for programs/projects, ensuring compliance with standards and goals set in the BIM Plan and project workflow criteria.
• Collaborate and coordinate design changes and model changes with other disciplines, ensuring quality assurance of BIM submissions or designs.
• Develop and model discipline-specific BIM objects for projects in coordination with the Engineering Services Department.
• Export models to different formats to collaborate internally and externally.

• Diploma in Engineering/Academic degree (e.g., Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Minimum 7 years of experience, with at least 4 years of experience in BIM projects and software (e.g., Civil3D, Navisworks, Infraworks).
• Experience of working in Roads and Drainage Infrastructure projects for a minimum of 4 years, with a range of experience in terms of types of projects (local roads and expressways) including all design stages (concept and detailed design) and employers (consultants and contractors).
• In-depth knowledge of BIM procedures, with good understanding of integration from/to BIM with other applications, preferably with considerable experience in roads/infrastructure projects.
• Technically proficient in all aspects of BIM and experience in multi-disciplinary coordination.
• Ability to work to deadlines set by the BIM Specialist and BIM Coordinator.
• Eagerness to learn, with the potential to develop into the role of BIM Coordinator.
• Knowledge of BIM processes, including 3D design coordination and clash detection.
• Knowledge in model-based drawing production.
• Knowledge of 3D rendering, and visualization is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of COBie specification and ability to export files from models.
• Experience with the use of a Common Data Environment (CDE).
• Familiarity with international BIM Standards like ISO 19650 and related standards.
• Familiarity with internationally recognized classification systems (e.g., Uniclass, MasterFormat).
