Job Overview:

Brunel International is seeking an exceptional Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead electrical commissioning activities on offshore projects. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of electrical commissioning, in line with project targets and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive electrical commissioning plans, including SIMOPS, to meet project objectives and maintain safety standards.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as construction, hook-up, and Completion Teams, to ensure seamless site activities.
  3. Maintain thorough awareness of vendor activities, punchlist clearance, and other critical tasks to guarantee timely completion.
  4. Conduct regular reviews of ICAPS progress to identify areas for enhancement and implement corrective actions.
  5. Provide expert guidance and oversight of contractor's commissioning execution plans and processes to validate fitness for purpose and compliance with contract requirements.
  6. Identify, assess, and mitigate commissioning-related risks, ensuring that mitigation strategies are properly implemented.
  7. Adhere to MOC procedures when evaluating changes to commissioning plans, guaranteeing that updates are accurately reflected in project documentation.
  8. Supervise the clearance of punchlist items in a timely and efficient manner.
  9. Guarantee the readiness of major electrical system milestones, including MC walkdowns, RFCs, RFSUs, and PSSRs.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a Master's degree in electrical engineering or a Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of total experience, with at least 6 years proven as commissioning experience in significant capital projects.
  • Be familiar with commissioning key electrical equipment, including UPS, HV/LV switchgear, VSR, normal and emergency power distribution, HVAC, Navigation Aid, ELICS/PMS, subsea cable and umbilical, transformers, and electrical protection systems.
  • Understand blackout procedures and first energization processes.
  • Have knowledge of performance testing of facilities according to contractual requirements.
  • Be familiar with ICAPS and OPERCOM methodologies.
  • Hold experience working on international commissioning projects with contractors or under company leadership, specifically those involved in Commissioning and start-up support of offshore production facilities.
  • Be able to manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in the oil and gas industry, as well as prepare workpacks and jobcards for offshore campaigns.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and ability to communicate within a PMT.
  • Apply knowledge of stakeholder specifications and understand industry standards.
  • Know ATEX/IEC regulations.
  • Show ability to communicate effectively with Contractor's teams and obtain required information as needed.
  • Exhibit experience with interface coordination and support activities, including documentation.
