Job Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of Technical Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety management and be able to contribute to safety walks, accident reporting, and investigation.
  • They will also be responsible for ensuring that contractors and sub-contractors interpret and implement technical contract documents correctly.
  • A key aspect of this role is following up on schedules and progress, detecting any deviations from the contract schedule.
  • The candidate will work closely with the Contract Manager to review contractor claims and variation order requests.
  • They will also provide support to the Contracts Manager in finalizing spare parts quantities and reviewing spare parts for quality and adherence to contract requirements.
  • The successful candidate will ensure proper identification, registration, and follow-up of defects post plant takeover.
  • This role involves managing all site engineering changes and updating project documentation to as-built status.
  • The candidate will be responsible for delivering the project documentation to the company (final and as-built).
  • They will verify all project non-conformities with recommendations to the project manager.
  • Identifying, reporting, and following up on risks within their area of responsibility is essential.
  • The candidate will coordinate day-to-day engineering activities and coordinate with the company and external authorities as needed.
  • Following up on design changes and their implementation is also a key task.
  • The successful candidate will provide inputs to the monthly report Steering Committee/Board presentations and other reporting matters as per specific requests from the Project Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in a relevant field from a recognized university.
  • 10+ years direct and relevant experience related to operation and management of fertilizer or oil/gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Minimum 5 years in an engineering management position in ammonia and urea major projects is a must.
