**Job Overview:**

The Senior Electrical Designer will be responsible for developing high-quality electrical designs, ensuring clarity and ease of construction. They will prioritize and organize their work to meet agreed-upon deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Detailed knowledge of industry detailing standards and drafting systems (AutoCAD, ICAD, MicroStation).
  • Working experience in PDMS and/or PDS/SPM/E3D/SP3D/AVEVA ELECTRICAL/SPEL/Dialux/Cable routing Module/MDS.
  • Become familiar with Contract Scope of Work, specifications, schedule, and interdisciplinary requirements.
  • Identify changes to scope and raise change notifications in the Change Management system.
  • Interface with disciplines to develop clash-free designs.
  • Document substantive communications and forward copies to Discipline Lead Designer and Discipline Supervisor.
  • Assist Discipline Lead Designer in preparing estimates for proposals and job scope changes.
  • Raise technical queries to obtain missing information and clarify work scope.
  • Participate in finalizing deliverables lists to ensure compliance with specifications and functional integrity.
  • Attend project kickoff and review meetings, vendor/supplier meetings, engineering and design meetings, and offshore site surveys as required.
  • Research Customer standards and procedures to prepare project-specific design procedures and standards for submission to the Customer for approval.
  • Prepare and review Discipline deliverables such as 3D models, detailed design drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Review drawings issued by other disciplines and incorporate required data into Discipline drawings.
  • Generate IDC design documentation for the project.
  • Perform design verification through single discipline checks and/or inter-discipline checks.
  • Prepare, issue, and update material and weight data take-offs.
  • Monitor progress and maintain the Discipline deliverables register on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist in providing inputs for actual, planning, and forecasting progress reports.
  • Capture lessons learned and enter into MDR's Lessons Learned system.
  • Guide less experienced Designers on MDR and Discipline procedures.
  • Further develop understanding of MDR's business including processes and procedures.
  • Prepare/review Electrical Design deliverables such as 3D models, one-line diagrams, schematics, interconnection and wiring diagrams, and more.
  • Participate in clash resolution meetings as required.
  • Travel to fabrication yard or offshore to assist in mechanical completion, hookup, and/or commissioning as required.
