Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Excellence: Adhere to budgets, policies, and procedures related to power backup units' operations to achieve overall organizational strategy and business plan objectives.
  2. Expense Management: Contribute to monitoring and controlling expenses within the budget.
  3. Best Practices Implementation: Implement KPIs and best practices for backup power.
  4. Cost Optimization: Promote cost consciousness and efficiency to minimize cost, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank.
  5. Delegation of Authority: Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
  6. Project Coordination: Coordinate with concerned Retail and Projects & Engineering to ensure project requirements are understood and achieved.
  7. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external electrical companies and vendors.
  8. Customer Support: Assist customers with queries on the Bank's products and seek solutions to their requests.
  9. SLA Management: Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turn-around time.
  10. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong/effective relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group's objectives.
  11. Reporting and Compliance: Provide timely/accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control, and Risk when required.
  12. Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and service assigned jobs.
  13. Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to clients and oversee field installations and repairs.
  14. Equipment Testing: Test repaired, newly installed, or updated equipment to ensure proper function and conformity to specifications.
  15. Malfunction Isolation: Test circuits and components of QNB premises equipment to isolate sources of malfunctions.
  16. Equipment Replacement: Repair or replace faulty equipment such as defective and damaged telephones, wires, and associated equipment.
  17. Test Equipment Operation: Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance and development parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions.
  18. Problem-Solving Collaboration: Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve development problems.
  19. Instrument Maintenance: Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
  20. Engineering Criteria Review: Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated materials.
  21. Layout Planning: Plan layouts and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
  22. Project Coordination: Maintain efficient planning and coordination skills necessary to prioritize projects and achieve targeted schedules.
  23. Professional Development: Proactively identify areas for professional development and undertake development activities.
  24. Industry Knowledge: Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in the professional field.
Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities
  1. Compliance: Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements including Group Compliance Policies and Procedures.
  2. Risk Management: Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify, measure, monitor, manage, and report risks.
  3. Conduct Risk: Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy.
  4. Operational Risk Management: Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation in accordance with Operational Risk Management requirements.
  5. Knowledge and Competence: Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role.
  6. Mandatory Training: Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence.
  7. Seminars and Workshops: Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or diploma degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
