Store Manager

The Store Manager is a key leadership position responsible for driving sales growth, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high-performing store team. This role requires a strong retail operations background, with a focus on sales, customer service, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve financial objectives, including communicating targets to the team and driving sales through efficient store operations.
- Maintain proper loss prevention standards, ensuring compliance with cash handling, fraud, and theft of products.
- Oversee and monitor all point-of-sale activities, including sales transactions, customer orders, payments, and inventory updates.
- Manage cash transactions, including petty cash, point-of-sale, and cash elements, ensuring accurate records and compliance with company policies.
- Audit store administration, resolve issues, and assist with annual stock counts and spot checks.
- Monitor and handle customer complaints, taking corrective action in line with policy, and responding to feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Track and evaluate brand sales performance, research market trends, and competitor trading activities to identify critical business factors and propose action plans to increase sales and profitability.
- Monitor and analyze sales reports, providing insights to maximize stock potential, and reporting on the performance of new and core collections.
- Maintain window and in-store displays to a high standard, in line with merchandising guidelines.
- Oversee and monitor inventory management, ensuring accurate stock, merchandise, and management within the store.
- Coordinate with facilities department on repairs or replacements of furniture or equipment, supporting company maintenance standards/programs to optimize asset life.
- Maintain staffing levels consistent with operational needs, ensuring exceptional customer service, and preparing schedules and ensuring adequate shift coverage.
- Ensure seasonal peaks and important promotional events are taken into account when preparing forecasts and staff rosters.
- Ensure the team is adequately trained in inventory management techniques, such as inbound movement of goods, receiving, stocking, restocking, transfers, and managing inventory discrepancies.
- Define goals and key performance indicators for each team member, ensuring effective implementation of the company's performance management process.
- Develop talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring, and coaching to achieve defined goals.
- Drive a culture of feedback and coaching in the Business Unit/Department, providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs, and coaching employees on areas of improvement.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a similar supervisory role in retail operations.
