Job Summary

The Egress Bay Supervisor is a seasoned armament supervisor responsible for overseeing a range of detailed maintenance activities in the Aircraft Egress Bay. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team to ensure timely delivery of maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake detailed maintenance inspection activities on the Typhoon's Seat components, ensuring work is completed in accordance with approved technical information.
  • Supervise the team to ensure maintenance is undertaken to schedule, highlighting any issues and escalating as required.
  • Ensure staff are sufficiently competent and approved for allocated maintenance tasks.
  • Meet agreed delivery targets through the supervision of others, reporting progress against delivery targets to management.
  • Undertake support tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facility to maintain compliance with MOE and FMPs.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the team, developing team members through formal assessment processes and supporting training requests.
  • Scope and carry out independent and vital inspections.
  • Maintain personal Logbook to demonstrate currency and recency on completion of On-the-Job training activities.
  • Undertake and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Typhoon's Seat components.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities, taking direction appropriately.
  • Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with QAF requirements.
  • Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor.
  • Undertake support tasks within the Egress Bay to maintain compliance with MOE and QAF procedures.
  • Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems.
Requirements
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent, with a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Experienced and competent leader with a minimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior to undertaking a Supervisor role.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Supervisor level prior to undertaking this role.
  • On the Job Training Instructional Techniques.
  • Broad and in-depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area, with awareness of how the team integrates with others to achieve overall objectives.
  • Typhoon Mechanical Trade Q Course or equivalent.
  • Ensure personal compliance with risk assessments, SHE policies, and procedures.
  • Human Factors Standard Course Specification.
  • E&PW Awareness Standard Course Specification.
  • ITAR Awareness Standard Course Specification.
  • IT Literate.
