About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager Legal to lead and manage a small team of legal specialists. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating major contracts related to Commercial Corporate and other functions across the QR group, as well as providing legal advice to stakeholders and senior management.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy.
  • Negotiate, draft, and implement complex multiparty agreements, including mergers and acquisitions and strategic alliances.
  • Coordinate the development and management of strategic contracts in accordance with corporate requirements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and procedures to secure and protect the business interests of the company.
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of strategic procedures for contracts and procurement.
  • Review, draft, interpret, and negotiate major contracts related to Commercial Corporate and other functions, particularly joint ventures and cross-border business partnering, to monitor risk and minimize exposure.
  • Identify and evaluate the risks arising from contractual positions and advise the business accordingly.
  • Seek out, propose, and implement approved business process improvements to facilitate achieving high performance standards.
  • Assist and support other Qatar Airways Departments with contract interpretation and implementation.
  • Provide proactive legal assistance and advice on various issues, applying commercial acumen to project airline interests and reputation.
  • Establish the department or team's objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate the team's objectives, plans, procedures, and practices, making appropriate changes as needed.
  • Oversee and supervise employees, directing daily activities, recruiting, training, developing, and disciplining to ensure a high standard of service delivery, actively managing team and team workload, setting priorities, and coaching.
  • Train and develop other employees to ensure succession planning is in place.
  • Responsible for ensuring that employees at all levels understand work health and safety requirements and expectations through provision of relevant QR Group induction information, instruction, training, and supervision.
About You

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced individual with a relevant college or university qualification to at least a Bachelor's level (Master's or higher an added bonus). The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Law and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. They will also have excellent contract drafting skills, negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate complex legal matters to stakeholders and senior management.

The successful candidate will be able to function under pressure, work on various projects simultaneously, and grasp new areas of law rapidly and accurately. They will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and/or Arabic.
