Job Summary and Purpose

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of our vessels. You will be the primary point of contact for all operational matters, ensuring that all practices meet regulatory, company, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety, security, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with charterers, ship owners, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth vessel operations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of vessel operations, including safety, security, and environmental data.
  • Develop and implement training programs for vessel crew members to ensure they are equipped to handle emergency situations.

Accountabilities

As a Marine Operations Superintendent, you will be accountable for:

  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vessels.
  • Complying with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate records of vessel operations.
  • Developing and implementing training programs for vessel crew members.
  • Collaborating with charterers, ship owners, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth vessel operations.

Qualifications, Experience, and Job Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Nautical Science or a related field.
  • A Master Mariner Certificate of competence and associated courses.
  • 8-12 years of experience in the maritime industry, including 3 years as a Master on LNG/LPG or crude/oil carriers.
  • Experience working with personnel from different cultures.
  • Fully conversant with international and national statutory requirements of the Maritime industry.
  • Auditing skills and knowledge of emergency response procedures, ship vetting, and ship inspection.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft suite of products.
