Job Summary:

The Principal Project Controls Administrator will assist in project cost and schedule forecasting using the associated Project Cost Management systems. This position typically reports directly to the Project Manager.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Reports to the Lead Cost Specialist or Project Controls Manager for both internal and external reporting purposes.
  2. Maintains effective communication within the Cost and/or Project team to provide necessary information about assigned duties.
  3. Establishes and maintains communication with disciplines in the Project team (Engineering Disciplines, Procurement, Subcontracting, Construction, and Fabrication as applicable).
  4. Assists the cost team in setting up internal and external cost reporting, forecasting, and change management systems to provide timely decision-making and corrective action for project management.
  5. Set-up Cost control system on a project, based on McDermott internal requirements and project (contract) requirements.
  6. Becomes familiar with procurement, estimating, and planning & scheduling, and finance and accounting techniques, as well as cost control tools and best practices.
  7. Under supervision, prepares parts of an EPC cost database for job parts assigned.
  8. Uses cost trending tools based on earned value principles, adhering to company standards.
  9. Under supervision, prepares preliminary cost/quantity analysis for job parts assigned.
  10. Under supervision, prepares a cost forecast at project completion based on an estimate-to-complete for remaining work and registered expenditures & commitments on job parts assigned.
  11. Under supervision, assists in setting-up and maintaining a change management system.
  12. Executes lower grade tasks as necessary and works on multiple projects as required.
