Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and Repair
    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, including chillers, air handling units, and pumps.
    • Identify and troubleshoot issues with mechanical systems, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed, and that all equipment is properly maintained to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Energy Management
    • Monitor and optimize energy consumption of mechanical systems to minimize waste and reduce costs.
    • Implement energy-saving initiatives and recommend upgrades to equipment and systems.
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and train junior technicians and contractors to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
    • Coordinate with other departments to ensure that maintenance and repair work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and contractors to ensure that all parties are informed of maintenance and repair schedules, and any issues that may arise.
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on maintenance and repair activities, including costs, schedules, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
