We are currently seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Systems Engineer to join our team based in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About The Job
- Instrumentation Review and Preparation
- Review comments of Instrument documents, including instrument data sheets, specifications, and system input/output lists.
- Prepare instrument documents, such as control and safety system specifications, modification scopes of work, and instrument design basis.
- Review and check instrument drawings, including instrument cable block diagrams, cable schedules, and instrument location layout drawings.
- Verify instrument wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and instrument hook-up diagrams.
- Design and select flow, pressure, level, and temperature measuring elements.
- Specify transmitters, control valves, and ESD valves.
- Develop partial stroking systems, blowdown valves, and MOVs.
- Specify foundation fieldbus, serial communication, and fiber optic communication systems.
- Design and specify WHCP, ICSS, RTU, SCADA, DHG, and MPFM systems.
- Develop hydraulic power units, choke valves, and sub-sea umbilical cables.
- Design and specify analyzer, metering skid, and burner management system packages.
- Review and check deliverables from other departments, including P&IDs, plot plans, piping GA drawings, and equipment layouts.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and complete instrumentation and control systems.
- Procure and evaluate instrument and system materials and equipment.
- Review vendor drawings and specifications for instruments, instrument packages, and equipment.
- Retrieve and analyze data from various sources.
- Develop proposals and estimates for instrumentation and control systems projects.
- Participate in risk reviews, such as Hazop and SIL.
- Provide technical support for instrument and control system commissioning.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in FEED and detailed engineering of new (green field) offshore well head platforms.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in FEED and detailed engineering of modification/upgrade work (brown field) in offshore Oil & Gas well head platforms.
- 10 years' experience with a reputable detailed engineering contractor.
- 5 years experience in detailed engineering of control and safety systems, machine monitoring systems, HIPPS, FACP, HSSD, LCP, IRP, RTU, SCADA.
- Familiarity with international standards applicable for instrumentation, such as AGA, API, ASME, ASTM, BS, IEC, IEEE, ISA, ISO, NACE, NFPA.
- Familiarity with client standards, such as SHELL DEP, QatarEnergy, TotalEnergies, NOC (North Oil Company), QatarEnergy LNG.
Specific Skills and Qualifications
- Instrucalc (required).
- 3D review and modeling skills.
- Certified Functional Safety Engineer-SIS (preferred).
- ExSILentia software for SIL calculation (preferred).
- SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation)/AVEVA Instrumentation & Engineering (preferred).
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
