Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Key Finance Professional to join our team in the Middle East region. In this role, you will be based in Doha and support our existing operations in Qatar, as well as contribute to the development of other ME operations.

You will act as a business partner to the Middle East Finance Manager and interact regularly with CAE International teams. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with proactive thinking and a willingness to develop skills in various finance areas.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Month-End Close Process: Participate in the month-end close process in Oracle R12, HFM, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  2. Accounting Analysis Support: Provide accounting analysis support to the business units on various accounting issues, offering expert advice and guidance.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow variance analysis, providing insights into financial performance.
  4. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interact with different groups, including Tax, Treasury, internal audit, and corporate, to respond to ad hoc inquiries and provide support.
  5. New Business Transactions: Consult on new or changing business transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment consistent with global business practices.
  6. Process Compliance: Ensure all standard processes and policies are applied, and all transactions are correctly recorded.
  7. Special Projects: Participate in special projects in collaboration with other teams, driving business growth and improvement.
  8. Financial Forecasting: Contribute to financial forecasting and financial performance analysis for the ME subregion.
  9. Budget Planning: Participate in the establishment of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  10. Risk Management: Maintain and develop financial models, identifying, documenting, and communicating risks and business opportunities related to forecasts.
  11. Reporting and Presentations: Be responsible for the preparation of various financial reports and presentations for senior management, effectively communicating financial information.
  12. KPI Tracking: Maintain financial forecasts, reports, and KPI tracking, providing visibility into business performance.
  13. Tax Compliance: Participate in the preparation of local tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  1. The ideal candidate will hold a professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA or CIMA or similar certification) and have preferably 1 to 3 years' experience in a financial analyst role.
  2. Experience in preparing and consolidating accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  3. Experience managing the month-end close process in Oracle R12, HFM.
  4. Strong knowledge and experience in management and finance skills.
  5. Ability to implement 'Best Practice' in an expanding business.
  6. Effective communication skills, able to articulate complex financial information to senior management.
  7. Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  8. Ability to understand complex accounting and financial issues and provide recommendations on accounting treatment.
  9. Knowledge of Middle East culture and specifics will be a plus.
  10. Proficient Microsoft skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Project).
  11. Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  12. Fluency in English.
