Job Overview

To oversee and manage the research projects over several research lines for Qatar University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management: Participate in setting research plans and targets, monitor progress of all research projects, and act as a technical focal point for all research projects.
  • Project Identification and Development: Identify new projects and funding sources, prepare budgets and offers for new opportunities, and assist the director in research resources utilization and load distribution planning.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communication with academic and research Principal Investigators and their teams, work closely with internal scientific, facilities, purchasing, business, and legal team members to ensure project timelines and goals have been communicated and coordinated.
  • Project Logistics and Resources: Organize and manage logistics and resources for projects to ensure services are provided effectively, efficiently, and timely.
  • Project Tracking and Reporting: Develop and implement project management practices, track and report on goals and deliverables to all project stakeholders, and maintain relationships with other customers regionally and internationally.
  • Conflict Resolution and Quality Assurance: Anticipate and resolve project timeline and resource conflicts, observe work in progress to ensure procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications, and provide regular reports on project status.
  • Presentations and Recruitment: Prepare various types of presentations regarding the center research projects as needed and assigned, and participate in recruitment of research staff, their evaluation, and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in science, business, or related field is required; PhD preferred.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Arabic and English, both verbal and written, is necessary.
  • Research Experience: Strong knowledge and experience with qualitative methods designs (collect, record, and analyze data), and strong knowledge in preparing research proposals and submitting funding applications.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years' experience working in a scientific environment with progressive responsibilities for projects.
