Job Description

We are currently seeking an accomplished Quantity Surveyor to join our client's commercial team based in Doha, Qatar. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing expert cost and commercial advice on various projects, including hospitality, residential, leisure, and large-scale mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop comprehensive bills of quantities for projects, ensuring accurate progress valuation and facilitating smooth project execution.
  • To conduct thorough cost control and oversee the schedule of works, guaranteeing alignment with budgetary agreements and contractual obligations.
  • Project Budget & Cost Update Preparation: Develop detailed budget updates and cost forecasts to inform project decisions.
  • Bill of Quantities Preparation: Create precise and up-to-date bills of quantities to support project valuations.
  • Project Risk Identification: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.
  • Project Work Measurement and Valuation: Conduct thorough work measurements and valuations to ensure accuracy and fairness.
  • Payment Applications: Prepare and submit payment applications to stakeholders.
  • Variation Evaluations: Assess and evaluate variations to project scope, ensuring fair compensation and adjustments.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage teams to deliver high-quality results and exceed project expectations.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess:

  • A degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a relevant related discipline.
  • Accreditation by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or a similar professional body is advantageous.
  • A strong foundation in Quantity Surveying, with a minimum of 7 years' experience for the Quantity Surveyor position and 10 years' experience for the Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
  • Experience in both pre- and post-contract administration.
  • A proven track record of working with well-established international Cost/Engineering Consultancies.
  • Previous experience working in the UAE/GCC region is essential.
  • Excellent systems and business process controls.
  • Estimating, pricing reviewing, and detailed contract administration experience.
  • Desirable experience with bill of quantities, target cost, and lump sum bid price projects.
  • You must have excellent commercial acumen, communication, and interpersonal skills.
